I always have this every last Sunday of the month during my college days, that is why it s one of my favorites and learned to cook it with my college peers during our acquaintance party, where we were assigned to make this. Since then I always make it every now and then so that I will not forget the recipe and here it is.
Ingredients:
1/2 kilo elbow macaroni
1/4 kilo chicken breast ( cooked and thinly sliced)
1 tetra pack all purpose cream ( 250 ml) nestle cream or light cream
1 cup cheese (diced)
1 pack mayonaise (200 or 250 grams)
1 small onion ( minced)
1 small size carrot ( small diced)
salt and pepper to taste
Hello Ms. Mely... question, what kind of cream used in this salad? Easter Sunday I prepared chicken Mac salad and one of the ingredient is sliced canned beets (taste good and add color to it).
ReplyDeletenestle cream or light cream----- thats a good idea adding sliced beets makng it healthier. Thumbs up
ReplyDeleteHello Ms. Mely, question po, which one is better to use..white onion or red onion. thanks po
ReplyDeleteit depends, for raw food like salads better use red onions because it add color to the dish and mild in taste, but for cooking, white onion is better because the sulfur content of white onion is higher compare to the red ones, making your dish more aromatic :)
DeleteMs Mely i thought lang po yung red onion ang aromatic?
DeleteMiss Mely, ano po yung green na kasama sa macaroni salad (in your picture above)? Salamat po.
ReplyDeletesome spring onion to add color sa picture :) not included in the recipe :)
ReplyDeleteMam Mely, thanks po sa recipe i will try it this weekend,God Bless po.
ReplyDeletemaam, pwede din cucumber instead of spring onion , diced na my balat pa to add crunchiness...
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your idea :-)
DeleteMs. Mely, did you blanch the carrot?
ReplyDeleteNo, because I sliced it into small dice , so no need to blanch to retain the crunchiness of the carrot. You can mince it for smaller size.
DeleteMam Mely share ko lang po I add celery stalk instead of spring onion leaves it's more tastier, healthier and add color to the salad.
ReplyDeleteagreed, thumbs up for that idea. Thanks for sharing.
DeleteI put pickle relish too, with celery and onion and carrots.
ReplyDeletethat's yummy
Deleteminor correction: to cook....not to cooked...
